A woman came to see a veterinary doctor with a duck in her hand. The duck was looking so sick that its head hung down limply to its chest. The surgeon put on his stethoscope to listen to the beating of the bird’s heart as soon as the woman laid the pet on the table.
After a brief period of silence, the vet raised his head and wobbled his head in disappointment before finally breaking the news to the woman, “I am so sorry, Cuddles, your duck is dead.”
The woman who could not believe her ears wailed and asked the vet in a distressed voice if he was sure of what he was saying. The confident vet replied with strong affirmation “Yes, I am sure” and reiterated his point by saying “Your duck is dead.”
