Lioness Does The Most Shocking Thing When A Man Touches Her Cubs

Mothers, whether humans or animals, are naturally protective of their children. Even domestic animals barely allow anyone come close to their cubs to keep them safe. In the animal kingdom, when lionesses gives birth, the cubs weigh about 1kg (2.2lbs), so they are entirely helpless. They are also born partially blind, and their eyes only open after about ten days.

These little cubs cannot walk for the first week of birth, and it can take them about 10 to 15 days to start walking; they can run at 25 to 30 days. A lioness will only introduce her cubs to the rest of the pride when they are about one or two months old. Before this period, a lioness does not allow any member of the pride or anyone at all, to come a few feet close to her babies. She can become very aggressive if she senses anyone coming close.

The video below defies this law, and is guaranteed to shock you. From the beginning of the video, you can see that is a strong bond between the big cat and the man. The lioness welcomed him with a warm hug and plays with the man. She cleans her cubs and lets the man to meet one of the cubs. This scene is undoubtedly one of the most amazing things to ever be caught on tape.

Only a few humans have gotten this close to a lion cub because their mothers are always over protective and refuse to have anyone close by. The man carries one cub gently and places him on his body. The cub has a grayish coat and white spots on the legs and stomach and has just begun to open its eyes at under one week old. The cub warms up to their visitor and seems to have no problem walking around.

As the man familiarizes himself with the cubs, he gets the lioness to trust him by his actions. As he continues his bonding process by taking the cubs to their mother to show her that he doesn’t intend to hurt them. The weeks of bonding with her paid off.

There is nothing more wonderful than this sight to see a lioness so trusting of a human being.
