Popcorn is the best snack ever. It is all American and tastes great. Everyone has a great memory of popcorn from when they were a child. Maybe you had popcorn at the movies, or the circus or fed it to the pigeons in the park. Popcorn is just fun! Say the name “Popcorn” and it even sounds fun. When the kernels are popping, you can even dance around your kitchen to the sounds. Getting exercise, dancing and a favorite snack is a great way to spend the afternoon. This is the easiest recipe. All you need is a paper bag ( lunch size), 1/3 a cup of popcorn kernels, a tablespoon of olive oil, salt and sugar. The sugar you can leave out. It is for a kettle corn flavor if you desire. You could also add a bit of dried cheese or flavored seasoning. This will make your popcorn a bit more personal to your taste.

The most important thing is to know your microwave. Every microwave oven cooks at its own level. You want to make sure that you do not burn the popcorn. Each microwave has it’s own wattage. Take that into consideration when making your bag of popcorn. Burnt popcorn smells so bad, you do not want to make this mistake. Take the time to figure out the wattage of your microwave before your start. When you do begin to pop your popcorn listen for a break of 2 to 3 seconds. This will mean the popcorn is done. Take the bag out of the microwave carefully. Steam will come out, so let the bag settle for a minute to cool off.

Take your oil and pour it over your popcorn. Then pour this into your lunch size paper bag. This is the time where you can add the sale and or sugar. Use olive oil for a healthier alternative.
